What do you want to do with it? My last ride was a 2000 ZX-12r with a full Muzzy work over. 475lbs wet and over 210rwhp. That was fast.

Ridley "Thunder" and 2002 Harley Low Rider

Ridley was custom made with custom paint, slash cut straight pipes, chrome manifold, flame seat, k&n air filter, 570cc engine has 25 hp/32 tq. and weighs 260 lbs. It has the same exact paint code as the truck , has no clutch (continuously variable trans) and it's louder than the Harley even after the Vance&Hines pipes.

Wink

I'm old so I slowed down for a more comfortable ride, I have done a ton of stuff to it though, the pic is over a year and a half old and I have about $35,000 into it now. I got a second place trophy in 2000 and last summer I got a first place trophy for a h.p. shootout in my class that I competed in. It was 107 h.p. and 117 in torque, not bad for a bagger.
My last two rockets were a "99 ZX-9 and "97 ZX-9, and I do miss the top speed and corners.

Here's a stupid question for you...have you ever ridden before? My guess is if you get the R1 and it's the first bike you've ridden than the only smearing that's going to take place is most of you on the asphalt. I wouldn't suggest an R1 to my worst enemy as a first bike...however, if you have experience than I wouldn't hesitate to tell you to go for it. You may want to see how the new CBR954RR looks too...more civil riding position and the hp's about equal. If you really want to blur things and make 90-degree turns at will then look at the GSX-R1000. Weighs next to nothing (not quite as light as the CBR though), has 10 hp more than anything else in its class and turns as well as any of the other open class bikes.

Well... in that case, check out Performance Bikes magazine (British, funny, and no BSing like the US writers) they loved the new Yam. Of course they LOVED the new Ducati and only liked the new RC51 Honda. That mag is very very worthwhile reading, if only for the hysterically funny writing. Worth the $6 an issue it costs me.

wolff,

Judging by the way Bayliss and Ducati are currently cleaning house in World Superbike, I would say the Brit writers of Performance Bikes are spot on ol' chap!

hey, Struck

I caught the Sunday races at California Speedway - twisty track! The Duc didn't do it there, the suzooks had it.

That 996 is the Lightning of superbikes, though.

BTW, I LOVE your busa's plate ROFL!

also, check out the 2nd (upcoming) issue of National Drag bike Monthly, they're doing a good peice on building a Busa for the street shootout class.

JBLsilver01 - You have the largest Lightning I have ever seen. Looks like a monster truck or something.

Only 1,992 miles on my 2000 RC51. Not the fastest, but a great handling bike for a larger type person like myself.

The "sixpipes"mobile.
