L foglight problems
L foglight problems
Ok,, here is my deal, i'll try to be short.
After only 4 months my stock passenger fog light burnt out, i thought it was just the bulb and decided to upgrade,, i bought APC superwhite 100 watt bulbs which have a great blue tint with plenty of brightness. One day after the same passenger side fog light burns out. I take it to the dealership and they fix the assembly (forgot what they said was wrong with it) and they then complained i had 100 watt bulbs in it and said it could fry my harness,, ( something which is very much so beleivable,, i didn't realize they were 100 watt bulbs when i bought them)
So here is my deal, i have tried to at least tone down the wattage of my fog lights while being able to match the headlights which still have the superwhites in them( i love the bright white/bluish tint to them) I have tried sylvania silverstars, APC Plasma ultrawhites,, both of which are very bright, but lack even a hint of blue and do not match the headlights.
If its best to just get a whole new set of 55 or 65 watt head/fog lights that have a different blue tint then that is what i'll do, but i would like to just find a good 55/65 watt foglight bulb which will easily match my APC 100 watt superwhite bulbs with their pretty blueish tint.
Are any of you running 100 watt bulbs with the stock wiring harness in place and use it as a daily driver??
I could use some help on this a ton, as the decision has totally engulfed me and gotten stuck in my head over which bulb to get or what to do or what to switch to. Its all just so confusing
Please help any of you, i've tried going to websights but all their pictures have some glare to them and you cant really tell the color of the light, just how bright it is.
~Thank you for any time whatsoever.

Also, if i wanted to keep the 100 watt bulbs in, what sort of wiring harness should i upgrade to, i would most likely be more then willing to buy a larger wiring harness if they dont cost so much. Thanks, please give whatever help you can

Hey whitetoast11................
I have been running Hiper HID Plasma bulbs for over a year ever since I met MrTailLight aka Steve Dempsey. Back in December when I hit a deer Christmas night, I ruined my bumper cover. In February when the body shop fixed my truck, they found out you can only get '01 and up L covers from Ford. I have L euro headlights in my 99 and have been running Hiper HID #9007 for over a year now. They provide bright white blueish output of light as you described above. Once I got the 01-up euro fog/driving lamps I switched from #9145 over to a 55 watt Hiper #9005 bulb I got from MrTailLight. They are lower wattage, as you mentioned and they match my headlights perfect!!
Gotta love em! I tried Silver Stars over the winter, but went back to Hiper HID bulbs.
Give Steve a shout or drop me an email
