You guys nervous? Dodge Ram SRT-10

The Dodge Ram SRT-10 is going to make the L look almost like a regular truck. Any of you worried that you will no longer have the fastest truck around?

Not being a wise guy, I was SET to get an L until I say the SRT-10 and jeez... how can I buy an L with that bad boy coming out?

Thanks,

B

Welcome to two months ago... Old, way old information. Has been talked about three times in very long threads, try searching for them.

I ain't scred, bring em on. By the time they hit the streets, we will have a nasty surprise for them.

I wonder if all these new posts by all these newbies about the dodge SRT-10 are really high level executives at dodge trying to get word of mouth advertising for their new truck . By the way i was at the auto show and saw the truck in person and where ever there was information about hp and torque on the truck it said in big letters Dodge SRT-10 SHOW TRUCK. Also a modded lightning could take one of those no problem. Another thing is its hard enough getting our trucks with 380 hp automatic to hook up. Now try 500 hp manual. While the dodge is trying to hook-up the lighting will be long gone.So we will see but like i said before i will believe it when i see it roll up next to me at a light.

What Us Worry...Ha

There will be alot of these Lightning Truck "Wannabees" sold and each unit will prolly be resold & resold over and over again...Because Why Well listen to a few of these predictive analogies:

1) Purchace this beast @ $40-50 grand.
2) Realize the insurance premium.
3) Realize the cost of feeding this monster. 7mpg W/91 oct @ $1.70 a gallon

4) Realizing tire life (or death) even when rotated on a schedule requires them to be replaced at 8 to ten thousand mile intervals.

5) Last but certainly not least: In summary the SRT10 owner quickly realizes his recent procurement is an Ugly Sick cylinder sounding,, Feed me in lieu of feed the family,, Made the Insurance industry Grin,, I still can't out run a Blue Oval at the track,, W ishing I had bought a Lightning, son of a buck

Nah.

They put a big 'ol V-10 right over the front wheels.

A Dodge Ram is one heavy SOB. That plus the V-10 equals Whale.

It'll need every one of those 450-500 hp just to get out of it's own way. Plus, there ain't NO WAY that pig will out handle a Lightning. I don't care what they do to it. Now they do have good brakes. . .the biggest ever put on a production truck if I'm not mistaken. But who cares? It's hype just to sell trucks.

Later,

You forgot #6.....realized that it is a Dodge, and my it's nature, will spend more time at the dealer getting fixed than in your own garage.

And #7....that is one FUGLY truck.

The SRT-10 is a nice truck, but my opinion is the same thing I said about the Silverado SS that Chevy showed two years ago. Until the damn thing is in the showroom with a tag, it dosn't mean SQUAT.

Concept away all you want.

We should totally have a swear jar happening here. For every time that someone mentions the SRT-10, they should have to make a hefty donation in the way of new tires for any member they choose, in this forum. AT LEAST UNTIL THE FRIKKEN THING COMES OUT.
There's already 3 VERY long threads on this so-called 'soon to be production' truck, which has probably lead to the demise of the 'Search' feature on this site in the past. Let's please quit taking up memory on the server because of a Dodge. It'll never beat us. Our Ford dads can beat up their Dodge dads, and so on, and so forth. The End. Exiting off the soap box. Carry on as you you were.
