Guys, Ron is not trying to say that he gained .4 from the plugs themselves. He is pointing out that running the improper plug for the application can cause problems. He was running 13.1s previously, then he added the long tubes and a 5 lb pulley (think he was using a 3 before) and with those added mods the truck was going 13.2s, with better 60 fts. He called me asking for help, and I suggested he check his plugs as it sounded like he may have burned one up. Then I asked what plug he was running, he sad the TR5s. I told him to get those out of there and run either the BR7 or the Densos, he opted for the Densos. Now with the proper plug, he truck runs 12.7-12.8s.

His situation is sort of like that MM&FF article on the Densos. That Navigator picked up 30hp from the Densos. But that was because it had a misfire issue, and the Densos fixed that. The plugs didn't ADD 30hp, they RESTORED 30hp that the previous plugs we costing.

Sal,

Thanks. I knew it had to be more to the story than what was mentioned.

That is the second time I have heard that story with quite a few facts missing an I had to finally throw up the red flag. I know others were thinking the same thing and didn't want to say anything. I let it go the first time but if he is going to keep telling it that way then I've got to call him on it.

It will probably save you some headaches down the road when new lightning owners order plugs from you and call back wanting to know why they didn't gain 4 tenths.

Chuck & Matt:

Exactly what Sal said............ I'm not speaking for Ron but I didn't mean to imply that the Denzos dropped the .4 sec. I admit I didn't explain myself well but I meant that the combination of the LTs and the Denzos made the difference .

Thanks Sal--don't need no stinkin' plug wars' !

GEeeeeeeeeeeeeee..... so much read into the words I said and thanks Dan.

Re-read my post and the sequence of events.....went backwards in ET and MPH with the full header back system: Now ask yourself as I did "WHY?" Sal told you why it went backwards in more detail, I told you it was not firing at the higher RPMs now as Sal had told me on the phone.

Sal... u da man Thanks for your help and I have not been able to try the new program on the chip because of the rain that set in down here the week you and Lisa left.

I said I went backwards in ET and MPH when I installed the full system. Now....... I said who I callled about me going backwards and the mods I had. Sal said get the TR5s out. Reason with the mods I had and the long tube headers they missfired at the higher RPM even if I could not feel it (this I did not say in my post).

Now I got rid of the TR5s and replaced with the IT20s. I then picked up performance from the headers and exhaust system. If you read the post no where did I say the IT20s alone gave me the .4. The IT20s and headers back system did.

Sorry people did not read the sequence of events. I did not knowingly try to mislead anyone. If I did I apologize.

Ron
