When someone revs at me. i roll down the window and fire a shot across their bow. this usually causes them to hit the brakes hard enough for me to win the race without speeding up. see, street racing can be safe, if you watch your aim.

 

Unbelievable.This guy says he understands the problems that follow streetracing, yet this fool is crying when people don't want to risk their lives just to claim I can beat so & so.
Also, I guess since someone doesn't race their L, it only means one thing. Slow truck

Too many people getting killed in street racing lately. I think the lady driving the red L was the smarter of the two.

 

Thats why you save it for the track. Around where i live there is no where to really run and not worth the risk of killing a family. Because 9 out of 10 times its the same as like a drunk driver you dont kill yourself you usually end up killing a innocent person or family and i dont know about you but i couldnt live with that. All for what because a civic with a fart pipe reved at you. Dont forget our trucks my not be able to go as fast as that ferrari in those pics but our truck is probably twice the weight so we could probably do just as much damage at half that speed. I like my licsense and truck to much to so i save it for the track. Oh and Riddler stop trying sound like you are from fast and furious take it to the track.

 

Very week stomach... My stomach dident stand a chance against them pics. ....RiddlerGT exactly what good is your lightning with out a drivers license? or legs for that matter. I dont pay 30$ plus to look at my truck or mustang on the ten o clock news. Im sure street racing is a thrill but so is life and I like mine. And will contine to keep everyone elses safe.

I do think some of the replys to this post are quite the farce, as most everyone will stand on the throttle on occasion and to be honest, most people posting here, have challenged and taken challenges from others before! C'mon, be honest to yourselves! I totally agree with you all that racing should be held in controlled environments and I am not real proud of those endangering the lives of innocent people. Especially my loved ones

I have earlier on in my life pulled some of these Dumb A$$ stunts and have just recently jerked a knot in a couple folks A$$ for racing up and down our street. At least I'm honest about this... OK! GET REAL FOLKS, Quit living in denial and loose this "Holier than Thou" BS some of the replys suggest.

Well, I agree, I have learned that stoplight to stoplight racing never actually gains you anything. I have found the slower you go the more that the girls get a nice long look at your sled. But then again, if there are any sports car enthusiasts here, then I am sure you have owned a few, your lightning not being your first, and also Im sure if you say that in hindsight the rocky road of your past has NEVER included an internal combustion duel on a strip of state owned pavement than I would have to say all our bullsh*t meters would be dipping off the charts. Stupidly....weve all done it....and so will our sons. Dangerous....yes....uncommon....no. I am only 24, but I can smell a load of crapola just as much as someone twice my age. You learn through your actions, not your age. I have seen old men cause as much havoc behind the wheel as any of my old college chums.

I remember one time a long while ago, my mother told me how much my father partied it up when he was a frat boy.
Then when he caught me doing it, he laid a line of crapola on about how he was golden in college...all books & classes...no frills.
He he....yeah....then I laid the truth on him.......we actully can speak the TRUTH now.....our talks are much more beneficial these days.

Every man attemps to convince others he has laid a golden path, even if there is no truth or reality behind it. "do as I say, not as I do". "practice what I preach".

I say there is more honor in being a man and admitting your mistakes....because WE KNOW you have made them....and also honor in understanding others will make the same ones. Life comes full circle. Verbally beating, threatening, and berrating them will do no more than spread your intolerence to them........just my .02.

The last time I posted on this subject I got flamed by several members of this board.

If you think that you are too good a driver to get injured or killed, or to injure or kill another while racing on surface streets then you are simply immature and, an absolute idiot.

I highly suggest a ride along with a state highway patrol or state trooper on a friday or saturday night. You will end up investigating an accident scene before the shift is done for the night. And more likely than not, the victims will be innocent of any wrongdoing. The scene will be horrific and tragic. It will either be the result of a DUI or the result of street racing. It will be one of the two. I can guarantee it.

Street racers do not take into account:

1) Mom, driving the minivan home from Chucky Cheese with the five or six neighborhood children after a birthday party for her little boy or girl.

2) The senior citizen driver, whose reactions (and eyesight) went out the window 15 years prior to tonight.

And

3) The 18 year old wannabe Mario Andretti (with three unbelted passengers)who thought his supercharged Mithcibitchi Eclipse could take your modified Lightning. (Believe me guys, THEY CAN'T DRIVE).

And finally, the statement that got me flamed last time,

"Real men race at the track"

 

In response to those of you who try to justify your dangerous, and potentially deadly behavior by insisting that all of those who post here and preach "race at the track" have at some time, actually raced on the street: You're wrong. Got it?
