Lightning Owners that have or have had Mustangs....
The MIL's should work, you can get em pretty cheap....There is a guy on the corral that makes them like 25 bucks a pair...You can also find the DMP's they are just plug and play VERY simple!
Hope this stuff helps ya!

I would suggest who ever you go with to buy parts check the 3 mustang websites above, ask questions about the place and do a search also on the business also.
BTW i should also add that i ended up having to pay out another grand to have the heads reworked/reflowed because the flow numbers were no where near close to what they were supposed to be OR what the paper work they send me said...oh that 1000bucks also included new springs (they ones they sent on the heads were wrong).

Hey Snoopy,
My first real car was a 82 Capri 5.0 also
. Wasn't it tiring trying to explain how it WAS the same as a GT
.
5.0's I have owned in order,
82 Capri 5.0
86 Mustang LX Coupe
88 Mustang LX Coupe (AOD+NOS=
)
89 Mustang GT
90 Mustang LX Coupe
91 Mustang LX Coupe (10.80@126, heavy daily driver)
89 Mustang LX Coupe (Trophy Stk, 12.20's w/ stk cam, heads)
Hmmm see a trend here? Currently putting a deal together on a 93 LX 5.0 notchback as a toy/driver, should be a fun lil 10 second turbocharged ride.

Man...i must be special getting good service from Excessive. Have all of you had bad dealings with them or is that just
"heard it through the grapevine" stuff? I guess i should consider myself lucky...of course this was a few years ago though.

Go to corral.net and do a search for excessive. Tons of people have had problems. Its a sin that magazines allow them to advertise.. but that goes back to what someone else was saying about mags not really caring about your cars...

A friend of mine has a '99 GT with a Vortech SQ on it. I can't tell you how awesome that combo is. The only other mods he's got:
Magnaflow Mufflers
42# injectors
Lightning 90mm MAF
Bigger Throttle Body
He put down 385 RWHP. Before the Lightning MAF and 42s, he was running the stock MAF and 30#s, and put down about 351. (Pinged some, we later found out he was pegging the stock MAF and 30#ers...)
He doesn't even have headers on it! I do know he picked up like 14-16 horses from just bolting on a Magnaflow Catback. I'm guessing with a few more parts he could make 400 rear wheel. That's the direction I'd steer your friend in, if he's interested in making that kind of power. Oh yeah, my friend's car is a TANK, because he bolted in a Cobra IRS, the car plus him is like 3700. Back when he was making 351 RWHP, he knocked down a 12.99 at 110 MPH. He ought to be deep in the 12s now on STREET TIRES. (Even with that crappy IRS, I might add.)

I've had a couple of Mustangs:
1989 LX hatch
1995 Cobra
1992 LX hatch (placed 4th for 2000 in NMRA Pure Street, won the event in St. Louis, and set the mph record in Byron).
1999 GT
1989 Saleen #05
1989 Saleen #486

You need the MIL eliminators. What they do is replace the rear 02s that are for monitoring catalytic convertor efficiency (no cats = no efficiency).
Mod motors don't seem to like flowmasters very much. They do respond very well to forced induction, though (as we all know). Without a blower, its hard to improve too much on the stock performance of a 2 valve GT (gears, tires, pullies, etc.)
Excessive Motorsports sucks. They are the worst of the worst.
Don't deal with them. They will rip you off.

don't be fooled by UPR's Billet items on their webpage.
They dominate in renegade in FFW Events.
The Check engine light can be fixed by MIL eliminators, which are plug and play items that plug between the wiring harness and the oxygen sensors on the H or X pipe.

Motor Trend 1982: "The Boss [and his clone] is back!" It was considered badass at the time.
