painting plastic??

painting plastic??

ok any of you body shop guys know if it is neccesary to add anything to the paint or if there is any special prep that needs to be done to the plastic??im interested in painting the stock cowl to match the truck,any info would be great

i found something its sx1050 made by ppg,2 lite coats,prime and paint,its a plastic adhesion promoter!!hope this helps someone!!

Though im not sure about any speical prep that needs to be done to the plastic for painting. But I know do not use wax on the painted plastic. It will do nasty things, like pull away from the pastice and bubble. Im not sure if this is totally true, but our detailing guy told me this, so Ill take his word. He said just to use some spray on qucik wax for these areas.

On a side note, this makes my 1000th post. Took me just over tow years, but I did it.
