Whoa!

.

That's not right(Kevin Meany )!

Loosen the clamp on the intake boot at the th/body and look for oil in the intake--th/body area. That's common but not 'normal'. Even with oil in my intake, I don't loose enough to measure it.

The other possibility is that the rings didn't seal.

I would take it to your dearler right away and have them confirm the current oil level and get them to check again in however many miles they think they should. If it's the rings, you should get a new eng.

There have been several posts on this and no, you are not alone. My 01 has 5400 miles and it along with a friend of mine's 01 with about 11,000 miles and they both use a quart about every 1500 miles. At both our last oil changes(when we found all this out) they were also two quarts low! No one as yet has been able to shed any light on whats going on. Both trucks do not leak any oil and both run like scaulded apes!! At the time mine was modded and his was bone stock, so the mods have absolutely nothing to do with it.

Same here...5500 miles...adding a quart every 1200 to 1500 between oil changes. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow morning....told them of it last week when i had it aligned. Changed oil today and going to do an oil consumption test tomorrow. Sad but true
