Cleaning Product ?'s

I am looking for something that will ease the removal of the tar and melted rubber that has seemed to accumulate on the molding right behind the rear tires. Not sure if their is something that can just get sprayed on let sit, and wipe away with minimal damage to the paint and body? Nothing I have tried so far has worked well. Thanks for the help.

I have heard of people using WD-40 to remove tar. You might try (I know this sounds stupid) WINDEX. It will eat road tar off pretty quickly. If it doesn't just wipe right off, take your finger nail and just scratch the top of the tar spot, not the paint, hit it with the windex again. It should wipe right off. Also, this will probably eventually strip the wax off after repeated use, so finish off with a quick coat of whatever kind of wax you use.

One last trick that I have also used on several things is Goo-Gone. That stuff will remove anything if you let it sit for a min or two.

Hope this helps.

A little old-time trick; at the strip I used to spray the area with cooking spray (PAM). Sounds goofy but it works! Rubber comes right off.

I have used wd-40 and simple green with good results, followed by wax.
