when I pulled of the housing, water pushed everthing around so I didn't see where everything sits. is it thermostat then just put the o-ring in on top then put the housing on/in?

 

I am not exactly sure what you are asking but when you install your thermostat just place the thermostat in the housing and then reinstall the upper radiator hose. You can reuse the old O-ring too. If you look closely the housing has a angled edge to seat properly against the O-ring.

Thanks guys I'm not a geek. I don't know what it is I've changed water pumps, thermostats, radiators etc... but this lightning is alittle different for me. thanks for the fast answers...
