Calling my L cousins....need help!

Hi guys,

I am wanting to add the 01- 02 L wheels and tires to my truck, and drop my truck to L ride height. That's it.

Nothing more. I hate copying other vehicles, but your trucks just look so damn GOOD! I think these little changes won't be to bad.

I know the wheel/tire combo will cost me the most, but how can I get the L ride height. I don't want a "lowrider" Just don't want the new rim/tire combo to look dumb at my stock height.

Thanks!!!

We all lower our L's as well. It is not worth the money to drop the truck an inch. Go for the BELLTECH 3"Front/4"Rear drop kit.It is really not as drastic as you might think. This kit has adjustable rear shackles for desired height. This kit comes with Nitro shocks which will be a big improvement over your current set up.I have the same kit on order now!

To get the ride height to be exactly the same as the Lightning, you'd have to bolt in the same suspension pieces. The rear's got specific leaf springs and shocks, and the front's got SVT specific control arms, and coil over spring/shock setup.

That said, you could probably just get a lowering kit for cheaper, depends on what you want to do.

You guys are right. I really just want the truck lowered enough to look good with the new wheels. Nothing too low though. A lowering kit sounds like the right way to go.

Why just lower it when you can have a suspension that rivals ours for only a fraction of the cost?

You have options available to you that us L-guys don't.

E-mail me at WrongdayJ@aol.com

I have two friends with Lightning clones and both of them can run with me through the twisties. Here's the juicy part: They both spent less than $300 total.

And no- this ain't no April fool's joke.

Talk to you later,

hmmm,,, if you are interested i may be able to sell you my rims and tires. Only about 5,000 miles if i remember right, hardly a burnout to them either, its been winter and not really able to get the L out too much. The only reason i'm looking to sell old rims is i have become very interested in a set of 20's or 22's that i've found my cousin can get a good price on for me. If you are interested shoot me an email @ whitetoast11@hotmail.com and we'll talk.
