Sad truth discoverd this weekend!!
Well, since Saturday was so beautiful, Kelly suggested that we take the ole' mustang out. Eversince I got the L last June I haven't driven my mustang, the first car I ever had, who was my best friend throughout High School. My 1965 GT convertible. Red with white top and interior, 9" rearend with a 3.50:1 Detroit Locker, MSD ignition, coil and billet distributor, race exhaust and power pullies.......just doesn't do it for me anymore. It used to be so ballsy, but after having driven the L, it is something I would envision my mother driving. It makes me a little sad. I would love to sell it, but my wife refuses. She says It will be her car. Thats cool I guess, but I wander if she won't feel the same (once she gets her lisence) that the mustang is too slow. Sorry, didn't know really what to say or do. My ex-best friend now only has my Dad to drive him. Damn the L!!!
Oh, and on a happier note, did anyone watch the Simpsons last night? The T-shirt that Homer had on the beach was awesome!!

I hear you buddy. I once had a Mucstang that I did a lot of work on. It was fast...until I got my other car. I started to think there was something wrong with it. It was so depressing, I had to sell it.

Thats a awesome car, my brother has a 65 GT that he made into a shebly replica pretty much, excpet he put a bigger 351 windsor motor in it and he let my buddy port the heads and intake, new cam, exhaust, MSD, and all the other little toys. Its white with the blue strip. He's got the original shelby wheels, and emblems all over it and it looks real now. It was his first car too, and it was in bad shape when he got it and it was at first a 6 cylinder stanger, so its not even a fast back but I like the way it looks anyway.
The car hauls a$$ and has no trouble whooping up on newer cars with ease.

I love that car.
I wouldn't want my wife, or any other loved one, for that matter, driving any Ford with their famous flammable drop in gas tank, especially after my friend's niece got incinerated when she was rear ended at a stop light.
i have a 66 mustang, and i still love to drive it-- how can u say that its not as much fun to drive as your L? personally i dont think anything compares to the looks you get and the smell of that 4 bbl carb. if u want to sell it, let me know, im all about old cars!! right now we are trying to find my wife a 71 chevelle 454 SS. dont get me wrong, i love my L, if i didnt , i would sell it. im just saying, dont neglect a classic!!
I don't know, it just doesn't feel right anymore. I used to drive that thing into the ground. But now...I don't know. I guess I could soup it up, but that cost bucks. What do you guys think about dual carbs? Would that make a big difference in acceleration? I could go with a blower, but that is 3 big ones!

My first car was a Red 1996 Mustang Convertible 289. My dad and I restored it. I wish I had it back! 289, competition cam, Edelbrock intake, Holley 650, 3.55 gears, built C4. I bet she'd run high 14's, but I never raced it at the track.
I am working to get my 64-1/2 Mustang back in everyday driving condition. Reworking the brakes and have to drop the transmission in the next week or so. I have had the car since I was 13 and paid $900 for it. A lot of work and a lot of memories have gone in to it over the years. Please do not sell your GT unless you have to. It does not have to be about speed when you are cruising in that GT vert. mustang, you want to go a little slower so the masses can admire your A$$. I can not wait to get mine cleaned up and get some pics with the L
