hey Chikenears..

did you ever find out what was making that noise on your truck?
was it the exhaust hitting the traction bars?

No, I haven't looked at it yet. The trucks in limbo right now, waiting on rear springs. As soon as I get the springs installed, swaybar end links shortened, alignment done, and pulley installed, I'll get to it. To tell you the truth, I had forgotten about it since I'm not driving it right now.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Bob,

It's kind of a snap/clunk sound, not nearly as loud as the front control arm clunk. Sounds are really hard to explain. It's almost like something is being put in a bind, for a split second, and snapping back.

This might not make any sense but it's the only way I know how to describe it. It might be hitting the exhaust, I just don't know yet but the JDM traction bars are supposed to clear the Bassani exhaust, or at least that's what I was told.

You just made me have a flashback. My first duty station in the Army was Ft. Polk, LA. It was 1986. I had '69 Mercury Montego MX in very nice condition at the time. Well, when I crossed the MS state line into LA on I-20, the road turned into one big pothole all the way to Shreveport. The Interstate was so bad I was afraid to try the state roads, that's why I drove all the way across to US 311. Anyway, it was so rough that it shook my windows off the support rails inside the doors. I never could get them to stay on the tracks after that. The roads got a lot better after LA raised the drinking age to 21 for some fed. funds toward construction. I don't think they'll ever be able to get I-10 right unless they just go ahead and elevate the whole damned thing from the MS line to I-49. What a mess!
