Question Running engine with no blower belt

Is it possible? It would be easier to determine which/what idler pulley or tensioner is making a noise.

It will run. Should not hurt anything to do what you want to do. May run a little rich.

It'll run but it makes an awful noise with the blower freewheeling in the airstream ... I would not drive far or fast with no belt ...

So engine vacuum alone will be enough to turn the blower rotors? I wasn't aware that was possible. I would only run the the engine at idle for a short time with NO driving to see if a noise I get when the engine is cold would go away. I think it's a idler pulley but not sure. Thanks for the info..

Yeah I ran mine doing a similar thing the other day. As you raise the RPM with the belt off the blower rotors will freewheel....

Hence the racket I was talking about

It will run, but like they said, it will be a dog. Drove around for 3 days like that, no problem. Got the best gas mileage I ever seen out of this truck - 16mpg. Just make sure you disconnect the battery first before you drive it. It will not run over 5mph until the computer learns to deal without the extra power (about 10min).
