I have a ground force 1/2 kit. What do you guys suggest I do with the shock situation. Keep them stock, get some of the doestch(or however u spell it), the JDM shocks? Should i get the rear only or the front too? Whats best for handleing and whats best for launching?

I know the JDM and Ruslow kits include the hardware needed to mount them to the stock shock locations.
They are both 12 point adjustible HAL QA1's...they've just got different valving...I have no experience with JDM's, but I rode in CaptO's truck with them and the ride felt awesome... I havn't installed mine yet. Spike might have some input on this too.

I forget the prices...Ruslow's kit (4 shocks) was in the neighborhood of $650, JDM's is around $300 (2 shocks)...

I got mine from Ruslow, he tunes them to what ever springs you have in your truck.
They have a 12 position adjustment, so you can set them up for every day driving, and then when you go to the track adjust them for the track conditions.

is ruslows setup ok for launching and is jdms setup ok for handleing. i want both but am willing to scrafice one thing for another. either handling for traction or traction for handling. i have to decide. but i dont want to go extreme like excellent handling but not able to grip at 1/4 throttle.

Since the QA1 rear shocks are stiffer than required at the highest setting (12) you could get JDM's shocks for the rear and tighten them up if you need to match the spring rate for the corners. But, I don't know what is different about his, whether it's a different fluid or valving? There has been mention of the this, but I can't speak on what's different. With that in mind, I don't know how they react at different velocities on a road course. The off-the-shelf QA1 jounce/rebound changes as the setting on the dial changes and only a shock dyno printout would show you what you're getting in comparison to the "off-the-shelf" ones. Call JDM and find out the difference. Since they are made custom for him by QA1 and QA1 tests shocks on the dyno, there is probably data (either JDM or QA1 should have the info).
Regarding the pricing, it might be confusing so just in case: The JDM shocks are either $340 or $390 per pair, depending on whether or not the special price is still in effect (about $170 to $195 per shock). Also I don't think JDM sells the fronts. If he does, my mistake. Ruslows are about $650 (about $163 per shock). So the shocks work in their optimum range, there are different part numbers to choose from depending on the suspension drop. Make sure you get the right ones, since you're spending the money.
Other good information to know: The obvious is that they are externally adjustable so changing the setting is simple. Just turn a ****. They are rebuildable, so the investment isn't wasted. You can also specify different valving, for instance if you wanted a to get closer to a 60/40 or 50/50 shock, they can be modified. One other thing not mentioned much is the size of the shock. They can dissipate heat much better than others, so they will last longer than the others (when they do wear out, rebuild them).
