Question lowering ?

i went to a local shop and told them that i wanted the billtech 3/4 lowering kit. i showed him the kit from the online store, and he told me that it was only for the regular f150, not the lightning. is there any truth to this or is he just trying to sell me some of his stuff?

also, how hard is the kit to install?

does it bottom out in the back without the c-notch?

and how much should i expect to pay if i feel it is too complicated for me?

thanx everyone

FastAsL - consider yourself lucky, if the people that would install it are as *smart* as the person you talked to, then you found out which shop not to go to for the installation.

As for the answer, techinically it's not a lowering kit targeted towards lightnings, but F150's instead. Regardless of which vehicle it's targeted it, it fits both vehicles. The only difference is Lightning's are already 1" lower then the F150's so you won't get the true drop the kit says you will.

Heres an example: if it's an lower kit for the F150 that is a 2/3 drop, on a lightning it would be a 1/2 drop.

I don't know how hard the belltech is install, I know shackles are easy, front springs are straightforward and require extra care to be take because of the compressed coils, and anyone you talk to will tell you that the rear hangers are do- able but they are a pain in the butt.

I actually got the same kit, but it came out to be a 2/4 drop. Yes , it will bottom out alot, at least for me it did. Since im waiting on a c-notch, I raised the rear 1" today and it hasn't bottomed-out yet. hope this helps.

FastasL,
it actually ended up being a 2/3 now with the rear raised. I like it better now, looks alot more level. Before it looked like the rear was dragging more, now more level. Like I said before, I havent bottomed out yet(doesnt mean it wont happen) . Once I get a C-notch, i will get the rear dropped again and somehow the front dropped one more inch to get a level look. I will post a pic tommorrow with the rear raised juxtaposed to another pic with the rear lower, its dark now.

Well the 3/4 comes out to be a 2/4, then just raise a notch on the rear shackles. Presto, 2/3, there should be other kits than the Belltech though.
