For all that are wondering JDM is still selling the BABolt throttle body. It was just to keep up with demand that he designed a new throttle body.

So for anyone who wants the BABolt T/B relax you can still get one.

Yes all the throttle bodies out there are great especially the BABolt unit but I just dont see the point of spending 500+ dollars for 6-7 HP. I really dont understand the craze...

They say the increase in throttle respones is very noticable. Especially in short wot runs.

What happened?

The finish and quality was excellent.

Did you get some chewin' tobacco juice on it and it pitted the finish?

Excuse me(LOL), the "was" should have been "IS". Hey Dan,

The T/B that BaBolt makes is worth the extra money, IMHO. I'm willing to say that BaBolts flow's better.

Just to be clear on the throttle bodies that we are manufacturing. Currently the only vendor that has the throttle bodies is JDM. The reason for this is JDM is supplying their own arm since ours is not ready yet. We have an agreement with JDM not to sell to any of their current distributors. So those who are, please don't ask. Our linkage should be available in about 1 month. Our design is not adaptable or compatable for use on the Cobra, nor is the Cobra adaptable to fit the Lightning. The throttle bodies available from JDM will have their logo stamped in the blade and laser engraved on the outside. In addition, theirs comes with the tps installed and ours when it is available will not. I do not follow this board, and I hope that this clears up some misconceptions. Our pricing will be in line with JDM's pricing so don't hold out because the pricing will be the same.

Thank you,

John Mihovetz

I'm not sure about the keeping up the demand part????
BABolt has said numerous times that he builds upon demand/orders from JDM. From talking with BA, I really don't believe there is a shortage.

So what is the price of jdms? It is not updated on his site. Also is there and advantage with having the tps already installed? One more question will jdm always sell them or will he stop when you guys get your linkage?

Just one more statement about this.. From what I've seen, the BABOLT TB is a tad bigger than that of the opening of the air plenum. What would be the since of going much bigger than the plenum opening? If you are restricted by the plenum on size, it wouldn't matter how much bigger the TB is than the opening. The flow will end up being the same.
That's all.

ally69,

I have heard so many people say the same thing about better throttle response but I have seen the dyno graphs before and after a throttle body and I am just not impressed. I could possibly see there being a better improvement if one has a additional 4-6 pounds of boost but I just cant justify the money for such little horsepower. I am not trying to start anything, I am just seeking further knowledge on the part.
