400 grit paper. Flex additive. Enamel & Clearcoat mixed together. I highly recommand that you have a body shop do this. Reason being is that they can put the parts under a heat lamp and they'll be ready in a few hours. I also wet sanded the parts with 2000 grit paper and buffed them out. If you need more info you can e-mail me at SVTRobG@msn.com

You need to sand it real good with a Scotchbright pad or #400 grit sandpaper, seal it with a primer sealer, and use a paint with a flex additive in it.

Go to NAPA and tell them what you want to do. They will fix you up with all of it.

This is the desired effect you're going for.

The radiator cover took 4 tries to get it like this. The fan shroud was much easier because it's a composite material.

Post paint reply

Depending on what the material you are painting will determine what and how to paint it. I own a body shop. I will be glad to help you. Tell me what it is (metal, plastic, composite, etc.) you want to paint and I will tell you how or if you don't think you can do it or get it done, send it to me. You can email me privately at collisionpros@alltel.net
