Talking Adjustable JDM bars

What do you think of my handy work ???

Inside peek.

The sleeve is 3.5" long. The rod ends will be ready today complete with Polyurethane bushings. The only reason I did this was to make installation on my low riding Pimpillac much easier.

Rob,

You've got my curiousity up now. I feel and hear a clunk when I ride over speed bumps and I need to fix it. The seem like they might be too tight or something. Maybe your mod will fix mine. In any event, I am very interested in what you're doing.

MUST KNOW !!

Tim

Rob,

Did your traction bars ever make a clunking sound when riding over a bump? I've looked at them and can't figure out why they do it.

Tim,

They really didn't although while making the new rod ends I also had a set of new sleeves made for all 4 bushings ( the part where the bolt goes through ) because 2 of them were rather loose. You might want to check into that because you don't want any play between the bolt and the sleeve. It should be snug. I'm going to install the bars this week sometime and I'll let you know how they ride.

Maybe then Duffman will stop thrusting in your direction.

My bolts were pretty tight in the sleeves. As a matter of fact, I had to pry the bar forward a little to get the bolts through the holes in the rear hanger. They might be *too* tight.

I installed them just as the instructions said. The instructions said parked vehicle on level surface first. The truck was on a lift and we put a stand under the rear axle and lowered the lift some to "load" the axle like it was on the ground.

Thrust on, Duffman!

Brooks,

No, it's not that, I've checked and can see no signs of hitting the bars. I'm not saying that it's impossible, on the contrary it is possible, but I can't see any signs of paint on the pipes or marks on the pipes.

Rolling noises, especially underneath, are hard to find. Maybe I need to lay down on a speedbump and let my wife drive over it? LOL

Do you know for a fact that yours are hitting the pipes? Mine could be but I don't think so.

Thanks,

Tim

well, an easy way to tell is to wrap the pipes up in something, then go ride around a little bit. or you can sit in the drivers seat, and have someone pull down on the pipes, so you can hear what it sounds like.

i'm pretty darn sure that its the pipes hitting on mine.. i've ruled out everything else.

Brooks,

I just recieved the rear lowering kit from Bell Tech, just now. My truck has the Bell Tech shackles on it already so it's lowered 2 inches now. If I install the rest of the kit, it's going to lower it 2 more inches.

I was told that this lowering kit will work with Bassanni exhaust pipes and not hit. We'll see!

Is your truck lowered in the rear and how much?

Brooks,

I'm going to try your method for finding the clunk before I install the rest of the kit. Thanks man!
