I need to find out if I need another belt first. Also, there's no rush for the pulley install because I have to send my chip in for a reburn first.

No, I couldn't kill an ant. Those folks are alive and kicking my *** everyday!

You need another pulley belt (#25-080680 at NAPA) or to modify your tensioner by breaking off the nub that prevents it from moving further over. I haven't done the tensioner mod, so I can't tell you exactly how to do it.

If you break the stop tab off the tensioner the stock belt will fit. It is very tight. I went with the gates/napa 080670 for my 4lb. 1" longer than stock. Much better.

JR,

I just got a reply from Justin at JDM. He said that the stock belt works with the pulley.

How long to cook chikenears? Hell, I don't know! I'm the one with the ears, I can't cook em I might need to hear with em! LOL

Odin's and Silver-Bolt,

You have two different part numbers.

Odin, is your belt number for a 4# pulley? I'm just trying to clarifiy this a little. I appreciate the help.

I've seen both numbers used actually. I've seen posts of people using the 080680 on both 2 and 4# pulleys without a problem. Myself, I'd compare the two at NAPA and get the shortest one to keep things tight. I got the stock belt to work for me on my set-up, but I'm using a 2# upper and lower. It was still rough to do.

Like Silver-Bolt said, you do not need another belt if you snap the little nipple off the tensioner pulley. This is what I did and it works perfectly.

JDM installed my 4 lber and used the goodyear gatorback 4080660.I have had no problems with slippage.1900 miles ,8 dyno pulls, 6 times down 1/4.Still has tight feel.

If you elect to use the stock belt you will absolutely have to remove the infamous "nub" from the tensioner. To do it you just need to move the coolant reservoir out of the way, remove the upper left bolt from the tensioner assembly and then I use a small hand hacksaw with a metal blade to cut the dreaded "nub" off (much cleaner and less chance of screwing something up than using a big pry bar to break it off)...viola, tensioner circumcision complete.

i just used a big flathead screwdriver to break it off..
not really sure where it went.. i think it broke the sound barrier as it screamed off to nub heaven.

i was kinda sad too.. i wanted to put it under my pillow that night, and see what the pulley fairy would bring me... or something.
