Unhappy Financing Troubles

Well... I got a call, they're having trouble financing the truck. They called me and asked how much more I could put down... I told them I couldn't do any more monthly or down.
I'm pretty sure they will work something out, because if they don't, they will have a used truck and I will be driving my Camaro again. So, I'm at the advantage here... If I have to give it back, that will just mean that I got to take a Lightning for a week-long test drive. How many people got a chance to do that?
But I really want the truck. So... wish me luck.... I might find out on Sunday...

You mean that you have the truck in your possession and they're asking you about financing issues? They weren't worked out before you drove it off the lot?

Don't give 'em another dime...they're idiots.

That what the stealer did to me when I bought my Cobra. They can find financing, they just want extra dough out of ya. Don't give them a dime, if they need more money down they'll have to come up with it for you. They don't want to take your truck back, if they call you again just say come and pick it up.

But I really want the truck.
They know this and that is their leverage. Just say to yourself you can always find and buy a different one tomorrow.

GOOD LUCK!!

Try to get a loan from Peoplefirst or another institution. The dealer can take the truck back and CHARGE YOU for the MILEAGE you put on the truck. BE CAREFUL!!!
Typical HIGHWAY DEALERSHIP SCAM!!!!

How much would they charge for the mileage? They told me I wouldn't lose anything. Is it like $.31 a mile, or something like that?
I know they can't keep my Camaro, or the down payment, even though I signed a release of liability on it...
Anyway, how much would they charge me for driving the thing for a week?

Tell them you are charging them the difference in gas mileage. If you drove your Camaro you would've gotten 22mpg, in the truck you got 12mpg. Charge them for car washes too. You wouldn't have washed the Camaro, but you washed the truck everyday.

This reminds me of two different real stories.

The first is my ex-wife's sister in the same situation as you. The dealer already sent her trade to another used car lot on consignment. She had to retrieve the car from the lot (free detailing).

The second story is my neighbor. He was at a BMW dealer in town on a test drive.....while on the test drive, the dealer mistakenly sold his car to the wholesaler. By the time he returned from the test drive his car was gone. He ended up getting a great deal on the beamer.

I dont get it! If you have the truck, then you and the dealer obviously signed an agreement. They could be just trying to pull a fast one! I would call a lawyer. It just doesnt sound legit!

I just got a call from the dealership. I'm headed in tomorrow to "redo" the contract. They're going to "take a look" at my radio problem too. Heh... wish me strength.

How can they charge you mileage? Is that something standard in a contract? Or I guess more important, don't you have to be approved for the truck by the finance department before you drive it away? I don't understand why a car dealer would let someone drive away with a new truck with basically no guarantee of payment.

What do you mean "redo".

If you and the dealer put it on paper, don't "redo" anything. They just want more $$$$$$.

He said they're going to adjust the purchase price to compensate for the higher interest rate. Soo... my payments will remain the same. We'll see... I may be driving my Z again... it was a little quicker than the L... but nothing beat the smile that girl gave me at In 'N Out today... With the guy in back of her saying "Holly $#!+, is that a Lightning?" heh.
Thanks for caring. Even if I don't get it for what I want this time... I got to drive one for a week, and removed all doubt that I want on. May just have to wait a little while longer.
