Air Fuel readings>>>>

I am going to dyno the Lightning next tuesday and will be using a wideband 02 that my freind has...

My question is in regards to a what is a nice safe a/f to be looking for on a lightning motor. My 96 Vobra made great power (471rwhp) with an a/f ratio of 11.8 / 1 my car lasted 3 years plus @ 10 - 14psi with a stock bottom end and is still running today NA with another owner

Can I assume that I would want my a/f to be no leaner then 12.0 / 1 ????

I am planning on making 3 pulls with the PSP (hot street) chip I have and 3 pulls with the JDM (2 - J49 - 1 J69). I will post the results next week.

Hoping for 400/500 with my current setup....

Bob

Bob-

From what I understand 12.0 is safe, my stock L showed right around 12 through out the whole pull. I had asked Bob Cosby about it and he said that was about right for being a safe a/f ratio

bob,
what qball2439 said.

I am getting the a/f measured too again this Friday. I am hoping for 12.0. Last measurement was 13.0, too lean.

Bob,
Would you be so kind as to post your results on the HP, a/f, and EGT reading during the pull if possible.

Thanks
Chris S.

Thanks Guys!!!

I think the the A/F is ok on this truck. I have been doing some 3rd gear runs on the highway (let off right at the OD shift) and my peak EGT is 1510F. My experience with EGT's on my previous DSM leads me to believe that the A/F is ok. When the EGT nears 1600F it start to get dicey and bad things start happening :(

Chris -

I will be flying into houston Friday night to meet some friends that are leaving Pensacola tomorro for the Supra gathering. Can you reccomend any good strip clubs :) I am being told about the trophy club or something like that is real good!!!!

There are lots of places in Houston, although a 3' rule has been in effect for some time now. Ricks, Sugars, The Mens Club, Gold Cup, ....
