Bilstein Shocks on 00 Lightning??

Question Bilstein Shocks on 00 Lightning??

Hey Guys im gonna be putting a Set of Bilstein shocks on my truck thanks to captinoblivious. I was wondering if they will bolt right on to my 00 lightning with no modifications to them. Any info would be great.

I think the fronts will go right in. On the rear, you'll need new upper nuts from what I have heard. I have been meaning to do this also, but just haven't had the time yet.

Really? Or do you mean the upper nuts from the 99'-00' shocks won't work on the bilstiens shocks. Because if you look at the me the whole top piece a bushing/washer/nut combo.

The 99-00 upper rear nut/washer is a different size. They won't fit on the Bilsteins. You'll need to order new ones.

Okay thats what it is. Vin don't worry about it then because the top bolt/washer stuff is still on there, see:

Don't know what you guys are getting them for but FORDPARTSONLINE.COM had them to my door for $160.00 total. Truck rides sweet, anyone with a '99-'00 and more than 25K in milage should think about new ones.

The left rear shock is a pain in the **** to remove. Just replaced it.

I wish this board let us use harsher words because that doesn't fit well. I hated that shock. Most I got was like 1/8 of a turn at a time, took me like 15 minutes to get it unbolted.

Stock '99-'00 wear out at about 10,000 miles.
