Please give me your thoughts or opinions....

Ok I want to be one of the big dogs of the L family now. I have had plenty of 10 & 11 sec camaro's and mustang's. I want my L down there now. Please give me your thoughts on what I am thinking about....

First thought....

Built Long Block with 20+ psi of boost. I have found a few ways to get 20+. Have the stock Eaton sent off and rebuilt and made better, get a Kenny Bell, or Get the one Sal is coming out with. I think this combo along with the other bolt ons will be good for low 11's for sure.

Second Thought.....

The above setup with NOS with it. Maybe not 20+, more like 16-20psi with 100-150 shot. I think that will be easy for 11.0's or mid 10's

Of course with all of this I will have a cage and other safety added stuff put on the truck, but give me a opinion of what you think? I also will have a box made to go around the roll cage so I can keep my stereo. I think a 11sec L riding on 22's with a stereo would be a bad thing to see. What do you think??

I will add to this later on my paint thoughts....

Doesn't sound to reliable. Seems like it would be hell on the block, built or not. You are talking race only, right?

Well for sure it will not be a daily driver. But for local track visits & crusing it will be a street toy. If I run the big races far from home I would tow it or something. Im a not much on trialer queens. I think this is very streetable, I could drive my camaros and get 20mpg and run 11's all day.....

If you want to be a big dog, your going to have to strip as much weight off it as possible. A over built long block will be needed to reliably keep you running that fast. I would go with about 15Lbs of boost, and a 150 shot. On a striped truck, tuned right, get a good launch, you should be in the 10's.

Only weight off my truck will be tow hitch, spare, & rear bumper. I want this beast to be heavy and fly...

I didn't see anything in your thread about maybe having JDM's H.O. blower as choice.

No flame on JDM, I have no prior dealings with him thats why I try not to talk about him. Maybe once it gets out and tested I will look at it or something....

Speaking of JDM and Sal's blowers...

Where are these things? Shouldn't we know more about then by now? Someone must have some numbers or know something.

I know of two guys trucks @ JDM now getting the unit, hopefully it will turn out good for them. I know the PSP unit has been test fitted and should be into production soon. The KB unit is on JL's truck and has made some SERIOUS HP/TQ #'s on the dyno....

No matter how you go, a built lower end is a must. I say if you can get there without NOS you will be better off. It might cost you a little more, but I bet you will be happier in the long run.
