You need a 1 7/8" wrench! Scoll down on the link. http://www.teamjdm.com/id247.htm

Dude, you don't need a 1 7/8 wrench, just use a big crescent ( or however you spell it ) wrench!!! Put a pull-bar inbetween the bolts that mount the pulley to the waterpump to keep the water pump from rotating, and try giving it a hard turn...Its a Bizitch, but it'll come off, may take a couple of tries!!!

Good Luck!!!

I think 2001 - 2002 may take a different size wrench 1 7/16??? Also, is it reverse threaded?

I haven't put mine on, I want to get the new wiring harness from JDM.

Not reverse threads. 99-00 wrench size is bigger than the 01-02. Use a large screw driver or pry bar between the pulley mounting bolts. I used a large pipe wrench on mine and popped it loose. Don't unscrew it all the way until you have the schroud loose and ready to come out. Also easier if you undo the top tranny cooler line at the radiator. You will have to hold the schroud as you unscrew the fan then slip them out together. Not as bad as it sounds.

That's right Silver-Bolt; I think I was thinking of the threads on the pulley.

I used a big Vice grip to hold the shaft coming off the water pump. The used a big adjustable wrench to break the fan loose.

If I remember correctly you turn it towards the passenger side of the truck.

It worked awesome for me.

Does the electric fan hurt towing? (the same or changes it in any way) I'll be towing around 2,000lbs, 6'by8' box trailer W/two bikes.

Thanks in advance.

And I think my 100th post!!!
Took me long enough.

I don't see how the fan could hurt; in fact when you need the fan it pulls even more cfm than the stock fan.
