Opinions on Chips please??
I own a 01 L and am consideiring a chip upgrade. I want to retain every day drivability so I was consideing a dual mode chip with the factory settings on one side and a peforrmance configuration on the other.... What are you guys
using and what are the pro's and con's? I would also consider a pully upgrade .On the performance side I would be very interested in what types of programs you guys run...

I have a very Aggressive street program, single Chip..I'm not a frequent track racer but, I want my truck to run its best at all times. I had it tuned for a 3# lower pulley and love it..
I would get a chip tuned with a mild street program on side one, and a more aggresive program on side two. You won't have any drivability problems, if anything it will make it drive better.
I would contact a few Arizona guys, and get there experiances.

I too have a two-way chip(currently being reburned) and a couple of other single-program chips for back-up(when one is being reburned, not because it's necessary). I don't ever want to be without a chip.
My 01 L is driven daily(23,500 miles) and is raced most every weekend. All I have to do to race is 'flip'(with a switch inside the cab) the chip, Add a little race gas, remove the t/gate, and change rear tires. Otherwise, it's the same truck I drive to work.
Before I got my first chip, I worried that it would transform my already quick/fast L into an uncontrollable 'monster'--not true! They are worth every dollar we spend on them.

Went with the flip chip, and it made a hell of a difference in the truck. I had just installed a 2# pulley, along with a modded airbox/K&N. With those mods I could spin the tires pretty well. Added the Superchips flip-chip. Now I am thinking about drag radials. I can literally smoke the tires all the way through first gear, and a healthy amount of second. The rear end tends to get a bit sideways under hard launch. Its cool as heck.
The other program on the chip is bad gas/towing, as I may use the truck to tow the GT to nearby tracks. That way I can flip the switch and race my tow vehicle as well... heh

That is what I got. I got the mild and aggresive programs. With a 4# pulley it was worth 20rwhp(mild) and 30rwhp(aggresive) but more importantly it was worth 55 rwtq(mild) and 60 rwtq(aggresive).Believe me it WAKES THE TRUCK UP.All numbers SAE,of course.
