Question Possible bad motor on '01? (oil blow-by)...

Well, a year after purchase, our truck now has 4900 miles and still has a bad oil blow by problem (oil in intake hose.) The problem on the truck just isn't a few drops in the intake tube, we are talking like 1/4-1/2 quart. There's so much that its dripping through the filter all the way down the engine bay to the floor. IMO, this engine definately has tolarances that aren't in check or rings that were bad from the begining.
Thankfully, we documented this problem with Ford from day 1, so I hope we don't have them telling us that its normal or what not. I can understand a little bit of oil residue while the engine is being broken in, but the amount that is present is a sure sign that something isn't right. I don't think that I should have to be adding 3/4 of oil to a 5K mile engine.
How many other '01 owners have this problem with EXCESSIVE blow by? I have heard that this is a problem on more then a couple '01's and I would like to be able to show them that its more then a handfull by printing out any responses I get.
Anyway, we are off to Ford tomarrow to plead our case and see what is going to be done about this.

Hey 97 Tbird....have the same problem here...but i would be glad to add 3/4 qt. every oil change. Mine is more like 1 qt ever 1500 miles. have to add 2 qt's between every oil change. Im going to take it to the dealer to get the "die" put in it to see exactly where it is going since its not leaking a drop. Hope that you and I both get our problems fixed. BTW, have 5100 on it now. Mark.

The Orphaner - Have you taken your intake hose off and checked it out? Thats where all the oil is out in my truck.
Apparently when under boost, it must be pushing oil past the rings and coming through the one recirculation tube into the intake tube. There is oil all over the inside of the hose (puddles of it,) the TB is covered in oil, and I am sure that the SC is sucking down oil which can't be good at all. Then there is the intercooler which is probably developing a nice coating of oil too. I'll get back to you and tell you what the dealer has to say after tomarrows visit.
