Question What is the difference?

Looking to begin using Mobil 1 in my 2001 L. I live in Florida and was wondering what the difference is between 5 W30 & 10W 30 oil. I have 12K miles on it and was wondering what grade to go with.

Thanks

The first number in a multi weight oil represents the viscosity of the oil when it is cold and the second is the viscosity when it is hot. Therefore in a colder climate and oil is thick the lower the first number the better. In Fl. either one should work fine for you. Hope this helped some.
