I'm sure somebody else will have a better answer for you, but I'll get the ball rolling. I got my X-plan number because my employer (BorgWarner) is a primary Tier-1 supplier to Ford. We have a Ford partner employer number (B525A, fwiw) which we use to log on to fordpartners.com. There, we log on using our social security number, and receive a PIN. Without Tier-1 employment and a SSN I could not have generated a PIN.

When I bought my Lightning last month, I was asked my 4 digit PIN as a formality. It seemed as an afterthought. They may have cross-checked it against my SSN, but I doubt it. I think they just entered it into some online system which was used to generate an email new owner questionnaire from SVT a couple of weeks later.

I know I didn't answer your question specifically. I'm just trying to give an idea of how little emphasis the dealership placed on checking my SSN, PIN, and ID against each other.

Thanks for the input. A close friend has inquired about using one of the 2 pins I get yearly. Shame for them to go to waste if I ain't using them. My money, their money..not much difference. Anyone else have any suggestions on how to finagle this ?

There is a form floating around on this site somewhere (good luck finding it without the search!!!) and I'm sure someone still has the link to it. With the form anyone can get a pin# for the X-Plan, but it has to be sent in by Mar. 31 if I remember correctly. I also get the X through my company and bought my L with it last year. That dealer seemed to look at it and check to see if it matched my SSN. I just traded the L in for a F350 on Fri. night and used the X again, but this dealer seemed like they didn't care about it too much, they just entered it into the paperwork.

Did you give them your e-mail address so they can send the PIN? If so, they may have sent it to the wrong e-mail address or something...maybe via snail mail?

I'd send in another application...worst that could happen is they give you 2 PINs

Me too. And my neighbors, and my friends, and my parents. :-)

I had fun filling out a disgusting number of those forms.............yet still no word. It's been almost 3 weeks now for me too.

Hey guys, I had the same problem. I called ford directly-call ford for x plan phone number(different)- and they gave me my pin and my girl's over the phone. Good for one year- join EAA now for 40 per year and have an x plan forever. Go to google and search for EAA and pull up their site. Join and then when you are a member for a year you will qualify for x plan as a member benefit.
