I B, Who took the shots at the messenger? Am I an expert yes are you No,you said it not me! Do I speculate no, do I prove my findings yes.Generous Motors had problems as well as Ferrari w/ synthetics. How do I know this Oh ya I worked for them too,I just try to help people who ask,not start (as you say *****) You Remind me of Spiro except I liked him & he new what he was talking about. I'm sorry you don't like what I have to say even if it is fact.
You should stay away from sheep. It's bad for you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BAHHHHHHHHHHHH BAHHHHHHHHHHH BUY.
Your an expert on the L motor..b.s. I don't see your argument at all, just a bunch of ramblings about how you are a supposed expert on when we should run synthetics but no info to back it up

The guy that built my motor is an expert and involved with ford with developing 4 valve heads for future 5.4 applications. Not some guy that used to work for generous motors.

So if you have knowledge of other L motors in good running condition being torn down and checked for internal parts wear after 30k,please enlighten us with your expertise.

I have been in this game a long and torn down blower & nitrous engine's that have lost oil pressure at red line finish their run while useing conventional oil ! & checked rod and cranck bearings, Piston bores& measure journals as well as piston walls. Put oil pumps & shafts back in them & continuded to pound the **** out of them at the track w/ no ill effects!! BUT I have no proof ?? So when the self proclaimed shepard & his engine builder have problems I will still be there to help!

No as a matter a fact the nex't gen L will have 4 valve heads ahole.
You no i been reading this board since mid 99 and never even heard of you.

Don't say anything to me that you would not say to my face mr generous motors expert. Are you a fu*king troll or what.

Why don't you go visit some g.m. boards...i think your behavior would be a good fit.

The guy building my motor built the fastest n/a modular mustang in the country, maybe you saw it a couple of months ago on the cover of 5.0 magazine.

Shepards are the self proclaimed experts who give out info about when one should change to synthetic oil and have others [sheep] that don't no any better listen. This describes you.I,on the other hand am no sheep and i can see it really bothers you

I've read many times on this board that ford is working on 3 valve heads for the L. There are a few guys here that are testing, for their own applications, the 4 valve heads that already exist. If search is ever restored you can check it out for yourself.

Yes you have read about 3 valve heads but there is a good reason you have not seen any threads about them lately

Hmmmmmmmmmmm

My L is dail driven(23,000 miles since I bot it in May of 01) and has seen many(?) 1/4 mile passes as well as 5 dyno pulls.

I changed oil at 1,000 miles--put Ford dino(5W20) in at that time--to get the 'leftovers' out. At 4,000, I changed to Royal Purple(5W20) and continue to use it--changing every 4-5,000 miles.

No, I haven't taken the eng. apart as it still continues to get lower ets, makes no 'noise,' and no measureable oil useage. I have used three different synthetics in all my vehicles since Mobil 1 came out back in the 70s. Mobil 1 goes in my wife's 97 Gran Prix and in my 97 4.6 xlt.

I will never use a dino oil past the first 1,000 miles or so. My turboed 86 Saab 9000 was "rode hard and put away wet" many times over its 300,000 mile lifetime. It was modded and daily driven while autoxing and driver schooling. Hard driving begs for a synthetic oil. It can withstand much higher heat conditions but will not drain off the internals overnight as dino oil will. This alone is reason enough(for me) to pay extra for it as 'dry' start-ups wear out eng. internals quickly.

See http://www.carjunky.com/news/motor_oil/mom2.shtml for solid info on oil comparisons. Check out the other oil related info excerpted from "The Motor Oil Bible"(it's Sunday, you know ).
