. They don't weigh much, make no noise, bolt on easily in a half-hour, are suitable for daily driveing, need no adjustments(once you get the 'right' distance--snubber-to-spring), are reasonably priced, and they work .Dan
i have some advice about the pinion snubber. it is a temporary fix. it does help axle wrap , but i have now gained lots of wheel hop, which i never had. i have adjusted it from all different heights from 1/2 " to 3" away from the pinion. i am going to spend the extra money and get the traction bars to solve both my problem of axle wrap and wheel hop.

Thanks.

snubber/ wheel hop
Having designed and built the snubbers that Mike T. sells, I
would like to add the following.
While testing the original proto-type snubber on my truck during
the entire racing season last year, I personally was only able to
create one unfavorable reaction.
While testing different heights of adjustment from the hogs head
I was able to create a bouncing, or Porpoise effect. This occured
when I had the snubber run down within 1/8" from the hogs head. I had to get out of the throttle, and then ease back into it.
I have found that on my truck that the best results occur when I have mine set at 1/2" to 5/8" above the hogs head.
It is evident that each truck will require a different setting to obtain optimum results, depending on the power you are making.
I personally have never experienced " wheel hop" while using this
device, but realize it is a real factor on several trucks.
I have installed a set of Metco upper links on my truck, and believe that the two devices working in unison will be a killer combination during the upcoming season.
The intent of the snubber is to "stop" axle wrap up by contacting the 3rd member as it attempts to lift when torque is applied.
My truck actually "lifts" in the rear end when I am heating the tires, or launching at the lights. It took me approximately 15 to 20
runs to locate the best setting for my truck. This is why the main
snubber bolt has a 2.0 pitch thread on it, so adjustments can
be made in small increments, which I believe is necessary to find the best height setting for this device.
If any of you who have purchased one have any questions that
you would like to ask, PLEASE, do not hesitate to send me an e-mail. I will try to answer any questions you have. I will provide my
phone number if so requested and we can further discuss this device and its intent.

Hi Jeff.
I am totally comfortable with running just the snubber.
It is personal choice that dictates what we do to our trucks.
I appreciate Sal's input on the upper links, but it is "my" choice
what to do with "my" truck, so I will run both.
I don't expect everyone here to show an interest in, or buy
the snubbers I make, and Mike sells.
It is old technology that has been around forever. All I did was
adapt it to fit the trucks we drive.
Hell, if all men were created equal, why is there a fast lane on the
highways??
Seriously though, I have the greatest conficence in the snubber
and my proto-type has surpassed all my expectations. I just
wanted to add the upper links as they , at least in my mind, give
me a sort of a modified 4-link set up which is superior to a leaf
spring suspension.
Hope this clears up my decision to do so.
