Clutch Pack Upgrade

Factory Tech recommends a clutch pack upgrade. Sounds like something I would be interested in since I don't want to start worrying about trannie problems. Question is: what brand, any part numbers, anything else need to to upgraded? Sounds like if someone could come up with a beefy trannie upgrade lots of people would be interested. I used to have a 440 GTX with a 3 speed torque flite. Car had 480 ft/lbs of torque and I used to slap the trannie around mercilessly with no ill effects. Would be nice, as I said before, not to have to worry about the trannie.

I'm concerned about transmission longivity also.

I too had a Roadrunner with a Torqueflight transmission and I couldn't kill it no matter how hard I tried. I used to floor it in neutral and ****** it into low gear to smoke the tires. It's probably still around serving somebody. The torqueflight HAS to the the best automatic ever built.

Whats that tell you about the car manufacturers!

All they care about now is how they can build car parts as cheap as possible and with just enough durability to get by!

Used to be alot different back then.

Its a shame to say that new cars could be made better, but Its all about the dollar. I see it all the time, being that I have a blue oval at the top of my check at the end of every week.

Jason speaking of blue. What did the dealer say about your engine marble noise on your blue L? Jeff

What I would really like to know is exactly what do we have to do to make the trannie bulletproof but driveable. We know we need to beef up the engine bottom end, but it sounds like just a few mods put the trannie in jeopardy.

I'm on my #3 tranny and I have a special chip that's never touched the hydrolic pressure of the tranny.

#3 is also about to go, get ready for this one folks, I've got 17k on my 99 L.

While it does have SOME use on it, it's never even been to he track.

Oh also dropped the rear diff posi-track at 5k.

Also 3rd intercooler. Not the new 10 row thou.

I love the truck, but it's starting to look like a pretty girl, "looks great but maintence is hell"!
