Need "clunk" info

Hey guys,
I need a link for the clunk issue (and recall?) I told my service dept. I would bring in a write-up to make things easier on them Car goes in Tues. for a quick fix (which I hope will work!)

Thanks,
Ian

Your dealer will probably want to grease the bump stops first.

I strongly recommend buying Herb's washers and have them install them for you. The combination of the 2 has all but silenced my "clunk." I did this to my '01L after owning it for 2 months. Have never heard it again. I give full credit to Herb's design and solution to this problem.

p/s: See how good your dealer is, let THEM tell you first what they think is wrong....but there has been tons of discussion regarding this problem on this forum. Sorry, I don't the TSB number.

meiwah, I understand Herb's completely silence it, but, like I said, the L goes in on Tuesday, and I wouldn't be able to have them out here that soon. I already told the dealer what is wrong, and i would rather not let them do any "monkeying" around trying to find the problem. I just want it in and out. So, if anyone has any of the old discussions, please post a link, thanks.
