Tr5's gap, and the SnapOn Socket-

I know this has been covered before, but wanted to find out what the correct gap on these is? Don't want to go thru the pain in the butt of putting them in if I don't have them gapped properly, obviously.

Also, I'm looking at purchasing the SnapOn socket (can't remember the part number) but wanted to see if there was any feedback from current owners? Did it make a big difference? Would you spend the $50+ to buy another one if you lost yours?

Thanks!

Chris

Now if I could just find one on Ebay and get away with not having to pay $60 for a socket...UGH.

I've not used the snap-on socket. I have changed the plugs a few times on my L and don't know why I would even need to buy a $50 socket. Save your money.

I used to have a list. I use an old piece of hose to start threading the new spark plugs. I use a 1/4 inch ratchet along with several extensions. I also have an adapter for a 1/4 to 3/8 so my deep socket will attach to the extensions. I have a swivel 7mm socket also to remove the coils. I have an extension magnet which I use to remove the plug.

Duct tape a 3" extension on a regular plug socket and you'll have the same thing.

What size is the socket?

I can check the price for Mac and Matco next week.

If they have it I know it will be less that Snap-on.

I think I am going to get one.

Looks like it would help on the Honda too.

Are you talking about the 7mm 1/4" drive swivel socket for removing the coils on the plugs? If so you can get them off the tool truck for under $30. I didn't need any other special tools to do the job.

The sparkplug socket is 5/8". I think I paid like $6.99 for the Craftsman 7 mm swivel socket, sure as hell wasn't near $30.
