Question Headlight Switch Question?

This may be a dumb question...but does your headlight switch light when the lights are on? In other words, is it illuminated like the controls for the heating/AC? Just the little part in the middle that functions as the pointer for the switch....mine has never lit and I think that it should....thanks.

Yea... it should be lit. If it's the only thing not working, then its definately not a fuse.

If the bulb is burnt out, then you're lookin at a whole new switch assembly, unless you can somehow crack it open and put it back together.

NO

The switch does NOT light. The little characters around it does but not the switch.

Ok, so now I am really confused , here is a diagram of the switch:

Not sure if it will be readable....but I do see a bulb in the diagram, so it is only for the areas around the switch, not the pointer itself?

I did the headlght mod

I had 2 switches in my hand (one from the truck and one I bought from the dealer to modify).Neither had a light for the ****.The **** is just clicked on to the switch.

I just went downstairs and got my other switch(it is in my hand). The **** is solid and does NOT light.

Hope this helps

Glad I could help and keep you from going anywhere near a dealer.I cringe when I drive by my dealer.
