Its almost on!!!!
One of the guys at work has a 93 civic hb with GSR turbo motor in it, he built it up last year and I know the car is hella fast from being in it a few times. We have been taunting each other ever since he started building this thing that we are gonna race. I raced him at the track (1/8 mile) with my vortech cobra and beat him pretty easily. However he is getting faster and faster everytime he goes to the track.
His best so far was 8.5 @ 89mph in the 1/8 but he keeps breaking his axles on the launch. He his running 12psi currently and is probably good for mid 12's I would imagine if he can get out of the hole.
The cobra has been sold and I have been modding the Lightning since I purchased it in october. In january with the PSP chip - filter - 2lb lower and it went 8.40 @ 85.41 with weak 60fts on F1's and it was running damm good but the truck performed poorly in orlando at FFW and was 3/10's and 3mph off at the 1/8 from my previous even though I had the 4lb pulley on vs. the previous 2lber. All I could muster was 13.32 @ 102.56.
We have been talking **** to each other since I got the truck and I feel the time is approching for me to put up or shut up. The proposed race will be roll from 35mph the 110mph. I want to take wheelspin out of the equation and I want the "L" to downshift into 1st so it will give me the best chance since he will probaly pull more mph then me at the track. This race will take place during the day and will be filmed probably from my truck.
As it stands now the truck has 3000 miles on it and has the following performance enhancing :
1. PSP and JDM flip chips (still playing with all 4 programs)
2. PSP 4lb lower pulley
3. PSP 12" conical filter
4. metco 1 / 1.5 upper.
5. JDM long tubes - high flow cats - bassani cat back.
6. Ngk tr6's
7. breather cap (performance mod??)
This setup feels very strong and a few punches have revealed absolutley stunning mid range and top end pull. It felt so good sunday afternoon that I thought I had the space shuttle with full afterburners on duck taped to my bed rug
The power/ trq is definatly up with the upper and the long tubes.
The race will take place in a secluded area in a controlled enviroment. Win or lose I will post the video on my freinds server for all to have some fun with......This guy with the civic is very cool and this whole thing is in the intrest of fun.
