Talking 6# pulley question...... (outrageous01)

I know people have asked this question before about performance gains from 6# pulley. But, this is my dilemma. I just changed from JDM 2# pulley and chip to JLP 6# and his Diablo chip. I went to the track this weekend to try and set a new best ET. Previous (best) with JDM set-up was 13.026@106.37. This weekend with JLP set-up I ran a best of 13.006@105.47. Conditions for the most part were consisant with previous T&T(same weather, temp, 60ft times 1.91 on F1). So, my question is why no improvement in ET ;and MPH went down.I have a few ideas; but I am not really sure. Anybody have any ideas why going to a bigger pulley did not improve my ET and MPH?

Also, Outrageous01 if you reads this thread. Did you get any improvement from going from your 4# to the 6# pulley? I rememeber you saying in a previous thread that you were going to the track to test it out.

Well, thanks to anyone who can help me with this dilemma.

Later,
Chris :D

Cool

extreme99,
When i dynoed my 2# pulley compared to a 6# pulley i gained 12HP and 34ft.pounds of torque, that should be worth a good 3 tenths faster at the track with the 6# pulley considering all things to be equal! The only thing different was the pulley and chip i saw in your post so I would say most likely it is the programming of your chip and I would call your tuner and get a reburn and see if that helps!

What plugs are you running? What gap? It may be the chip but I doubt it. JL would have tuned your chip for that pulley size. The 6 lb pulley should have at least TR6s or Denso IT20s gapped at .040. Sal told me to gap my BR7EFs(even 'colder' than the other two) at .040 because of my 5 lb pulley--to keep the added boost from over powering the plug firing with wider gaps.
