Is Valve Clatter normal? I hear clatter which sounds like its just the vavles on both sides of my block. Is that normal? The truck is stock by the way.

 

I've never heard it on my 01. Do you have 6 quarts of oil--no more-no less in the crankcase? Might be time to change over to a synthetic oil if you haven't already?

could be injectors and coil packs also....
but from both side of my motor i hear some clicking going on also...

Yes, I only put 6 qts. in, it only has 4K on the odom. so I havent got synthetic yet.

 

I hear clicking mainly on passenger side, heard it since the day I have owned it. Can hear it with the hood closed too, but not from inside the cab.

 

Probably injectors.

Don't hesitate, taking the truck to a dealer and having this checked out thouroly. We can't take for granted that the spark plugs in these engines are tightened properly. Ya, the injectors do have a unique ticking sound...and so does a un-torqued spark plug.
