NOTICED OIL DOWN BACK OF MOTOR ON PASS SIDE ALSO!!! SEEM LIKE THIS IS GONNA BE ANOTHER INTERCOOLER BS PROBLEM!! THEN THEY TRIED TO TELL ME NO LOANER DON'T THINK SO I'LL GET ONE ON MONDAY!! JUST REALLY ****/OFF THEY SHOULD BE CALLING THEM BACK AND REDOING THE PLUGS INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM TO HAPPEN!!

Like lightning striking out of a clear sky...Number 3 plug jettisoned out of the head of my 2000 L. Having only 22568 miles on the truck too! Proactively, I've checked the torque on the plugs in my '01 every third oil change. Finding none loose yet
We installed TR5 NXG's a few days ago and will be checking the tightness prolly next week-end.
Good luck getting your ride and joy repaired!

On these motors, you only get three or four threads of the spark plug in the head. So it doesn't take to much to back them out enough to launch em. You should check them about every 10,000 miles when you should also change out the fuel filter.
The Dealor should give you a loaner. It's one of the perks of being the owner of a 2001 SVT vehical. Also being a 2001, you should not have any I/C problems and I dont see how it would turn into some "I/C BS".

When I, said IC B/S I, was talking about a recall and how long it took. For them to admit a problem> I'v been around performance cars and trucks since I,was about 15yrs old I'm 51 now!! And plugs are not and should not have to be retorqued every 5,000 or 10,000 miles. Its a design flaw and it should be corrected!!!
Enjoy my truck like working on it !! But don't think having to due, plugs that often will ever be right!! Also it would be in the Ford maintaince book as a required item!! It's not!! Had a supercrew, with a 5.4 with 26,000miles on it when i traded it in for the L. Those plugs did not come loose!! As for the oil leaking from back of same head!! Seems to be showing up on a lot of trucks also!!
So yes I'm pissed now will I, get rid of my truck? Not till the next gen comes out. Maby by than they will correct the existing items!
Sorry to rant a little but it's withdrawel no L. thanks for listening
