Paint and Body Dept Hell!!

Bought a used 2001 L, w/ fiberglass tonneau cover from a Ford Dealer...support struts were pulled apart from rails...requested fix as condition of sale...body shop mounts strut supports too high on rail, resulting in holes poking thru 'glass cover...take back to body shop to repair, they repair and shoot the tonneau cover whilst on the damn truck?!?!..Overspray evident on fender, I point it out, and moron proceeds to wet sand section until he hits BARE METAL!..Im about to lose it...now they have to repaint this whole fender area, and I know metalic silver is going to show some evidence of repair....I bought this truck used w/ 6000 miles from dealer, and the whole experience is very negative...Ive asked the Gen Mgr to meet me at the body shop Monday am to resolve..
Should I:
A. Go to court and claim loss of value
B. Ask for refund of purchase price and sales tax
C. Introduce them all to my friend Guido

Sounds familiar. I had a similar situation, but with a new 01. Had bubbles in paint from factory, and had to have the truck repainted 3 times before I was satisfied. I did get a free tonneau cover, and a months payment paid for me as well as 6 free oil changes, and 2 full details. Be firm with the g.m and don't give in. Tell him what you want and you may get it.

Sounds like a body shop that you definitely want to stay away from...haven't they heard of Clay Groom? That stuff takes off overspray in seconds and doesn't harm the paint at all.

Good luck with the manager.

Typical dealership body shop. I guess they've never heard of Clay Magic. Part of the repair should be permitting a "real" body shop do the work.

1) Free gas for a year (good only if you live near them).

2) If they can't make it perfect for you, you can unwind the deal.

3) beat `em up on price, get some big $$$$ back!
