Fog Light Mod
I just did this fog light mod- approx 10 minutes....I used the #2 and #12 wires which are the brown wire and the yellow wire...It's almost impossible to see the numbers on the connector-at least if you're not in the whippersnapper's club...Now my fog lights also work with the headlights and no need to pull switch out. They are on in any position, parking and headlights.....

Has anyone done the fog light mod on a 99L? I have only seen instructions for 00 and up. Is it basically the same eventhough the switches are different and if procedure is different, what is the difference?
Thanks

99BlkLitng ,
the wiring is probably the same, just pop out the switch and check the wires. The number 2 and 12 wires are at one end of the connector, one on each side. If there is a browm one and yellow one they are probably the same....JR

Woot!!!!
I did the mod today since it was raining. On my '02
L it was pretty simple. I would only add a few points
to maybe help someone.
I tried to pry out the light housing with a screwdriver
on the bottom center, but the whole dash was going to
unhook, so I moved to the clip directly above the indicator
on the right side for the cabin lighting. (Looks like a timer
Icon) Once I got that one the rest came out correctly.
Remove the two wiring harnesses by wiggling and pressing
the release clip.
When slicing of the melted tabs to allow access (I don't
know HOW anyone did the mod without taking the fascia
off!) the front cover will come out of the assemply box when
you press the two release tabs on the top of the box.
I tried to take the **** off, and was baffled until I saw the
little square hole at the bottom end of the ****. Insert small
screwdrirer here and push straight in while pulling out on the
****.
Now you have the CLEAR plastic ('02') collar to reference for
the rest of the instructions from the board.
The butt splice was all that was left after testing my plastic
carving talent. I didn't use anything but a box cutter razor
knife to do mine. Exactly like whittling! Make it as smooth
as you can.
Then super glued the little melt plugs around the fascia and
re-assembled everything.
Thanks to all the pioneers on this ... It really WAS pretty
easy.
Good luck!!!!
