Angry Is This Allowed Or What!

I would like to here from L owners about what is allowed when it comes to the Lightning Truck. The other day I saw a 1999 Red L with a camper shell on it, not a GEM TOP or a custom shell but an alum. sided, sleep in, camper shell. I know this person owned it and is entitled to do what he whats BUT COME ON! I think there is an image problem here. I have also seen many that are being used as contractor trucks with paint all over them etc. I was at Sacramento raceway last weekend and a gut that was using one as a tow rig , thats ok, but the truck was trashed and when his real rase car would not start he ran the truck. This truck was in real bad shape, and it ran very slow he lost in the first round running 14.7 it just looked bad. So I ask WHAT IS ALLOWED AND WHAT IS NOT?

Running a 14.7 is definately NOT allowed. I've only seen one camper shell on a lightning here on the boards, and suprisingly, it looked really good.

While it may not be widely known, I'm fairly sure if you buy it you can decide what to do with your L. I know that sounds wildy irrational, & most of us think there should be limits, in America freedom is still the rule.

If they own it or make the payments on it, it's their business what they do, NOT YOURS!! If you feel like they are not treating their truck the way you would, then by all means offer to pay their monthly payment or purchase their truck from them, and then give specific directions and/or policies on how to drive their truck. I would love it if someone would pay my monthly payment and tell me how to treat a truck I drive.

Oh buddy...you should come here to VA if you want to see some really stupid *****!!!!

I seen a guy the other day with his work van and it was blasting boom-boom music. I caught a look inside and saw what appeared be a half-a$$ stero install. He had a piece of a cardboard box on the center console wall holding all the gold-plated fuses and lightning caps.....and to top it off, the van had no front bumper and was covered with paint. Oh...and he also had a performance cat-back system on it too!!! I almost lost my lunch. This guy was a true backwoods redneck. He looked like he had been working on cars all day and he looked super cool in his fast and the furious work van!!!

Oh, and then he tried to race me leaving the gas station.

I think VA takes the cake for stupid humans!!!

Yeah, it doesn't seem right at all. Lasy year I was passing through Muskogee, OK and saw a red 99-00 with a BIG camper shell and factory F150 wheels. It looked horrible.

Another story, I went to Broken Bow, OK to meet a guy with a '01 Lightning longblock and he was from Poteau, OK. He said he has seen lots of L's that are owned by "Gypsey"(sp.) people that pull 25+ft. trailers for doing peoples' driveways. They used them as contractor trucks and the Lightnings were "Road hard and put up wet". That one really got to me. He said there was about 12-15 L's running around Eastern OK, Western AR that abuse them like that. I can't type any longer. It is really getting to me.

I know this person owned it and is entitled to do what he whats
He's not making an offer to make a payment, he's using his right to have an opinion. Just relax alittle bit. Let the man have his opinion. I don't see why myself. No need for all the sarcasim.

Talking

F-150 Ram Air,

I realize that and I have the right to make my own opinion(s). Is that OK with you? I might not agree with what others do to their truck. I sometimes shake my head or laugh on what I see, but if it is something they like, so be it. Just because others think it looks strange or stupid, it does not mean it is to them. Bottom line, if it's theirs, they can do what ever they want with it, stupid or not.

Camper shell- 6 months.
Ladder racks- 1 year.
Light bar- 3 to 5.
Bug deflector- 3 months, unless you live in FL or AK, where its illegal NOT to have one.
Windshield banner- 6 months behind the wheel of a Civic.
Glow in the dark bed liner- 10 years, and you have to pay all of CA's tickets.
Pink bulldog- 25 to life.
