In the old days much of what has been said is true (when carbs sat on intake manifolds). You do want to have good atomization of the air and fuel. What you also need to understand is that a textured surface is much like rocks in a stream. What do you find there eddy currents, rapids and white water no smooth laminar flow. Now if you wanted to generate more power you could pull the injectors and move them up stream in the airflow and have better atomization and also produce more torque. Location of the stock injectors was not done to create the most horsepower. There was a trade off between HP, emissions and packaging. Here is a question to ask yourself. Why do we now see plastic intake manifolds and throttle bodies? It is not just for the ease of manufacturing.

Extrude honing doesn't leave a mirror like polished finish, very smooth yes, but not polished...Granted we are talking very minor differences in power and flow( between the two finishes) but a difference none the less.. as for ported and polished heads. polishing does help in the exhaust port and many times in the combustion area ( domes) as it helps to prevent the accumulation of deposits which can cause " hot spots "leading to pre-ignition. and as some engine builders believe it also reflects heat back into the combustion chamber

Cool

Another reason for a smooth surface in the intake track is that it reduces the frictional heating that occurs. Look at some of the test results from Extrude-Hone. In the case of the Lightning a long smooth intake track can be conducive to temperature management.

Please refrain from outright marketing of products on F150Online.
Perhaps you or Metco should contact Steve about becoming a supporting vendor.

Thanks
Doug
