hotchkis coils / hotchkis leaf springs (stock 01' shocks)
roughly 6 months

17.75 / 18.25

You've had yours 2 months more then mine and your fronts are .25" lower and the rear is 1.25 lower??? Your's sagged an extra in. over the reported drop?
Mine came from Hotchkis that way but I am monitoring if they sag. So far they haven't. The installer (and friend of the Hotchkis folks) called me and asked if I'd be interested in trying them out (in turn, I got some stuff at a reduced rate). At the time I got them, they had only made a few sets and there was the possibility that some design changes would follow (I think Silver-Bolt may have been in that group). If you remember on the "lost" lowering thread on NLOC , there were several different spring rates quoted by Hotchkis prior to selling the kits. So, the data listed states "Spike Hotchkis" since I was 99% sure mine were different. Yet without the comparison, I never knew for sure.

What will be interesting if there is a drop difference between the gas charged Bilstiens and the QA1's. I doubt it, but it's possible.

Spike

Front: drop / Rear: drop
Stock: 0 / Stock: 0
Stock: 0 / Stock: 0
Stock: 0 / 2" Belltech shackles: -2
Stock: 0 / 2" Belltech shackles: -1
Stock: 0.25 / 2" Belltech shackles: -0.75 (see note 1)
Stock: -0.5 / 2" AIM Shackles: -1.5 (see note 2)
Eiback 1" coils: -2 / 2" Belltech shackles: -1.25
Ground Force 2" coils: -1 / DJM 2" shackles: -1
Ground Force 2" coils: -1.5 / Comp. springs & FRPP shackles: -2
Ground Force 2" coils: -3 / FRPP shackles: -1.67
Hotchkis coils: -1.25 / Hotchkis springs: -1.75
Hotchkis coils: -1.5 / Hotchkis springs: -1.75
Spike Hotchkis coils: -1.5 / Spike Hotchkis springs: -3
Ruslow coils: -1.5 / Ruslow Slider: -1.5

Notes
1. Both measurements where 1/4" above ave.
2. Coils and springs 23 months old. If fronts and rears didn't sag, then both measurements assumed 1/2" off to give 19 and 18.

Spike,

I rechecked my measurements, along with a plumb measure to ensure I was lined up properly, and they were again 18.5/18.5.

Perhaps it really is sag after nearly two years, plus the added weight (currently) of a full tank of gas, an ARE cover, Bedrug, hitch and spare. It's heavy...

Yeah I'm at work and have nothing better to do. I'll run out to the parking lot and measure mine.

Ok I check these measurments twice to be sure I was right.
Stock 2002 I have had it for ~3 weeks (730miles)
less than 1/8 of a tank of fuel

front drivers side 19 3/16
back drivers side 20 1/2

front passenger side 19 1/8
back passenger side 20 7/16

why is mine higher than all of yours?

I will fill it up with gas tomorrow and check it again. I doubt that will make much of a differance though.

Anyone with Bilsteins interested in taking off the rear shocks to re-measure the height? Take them off, lower the truck, jump on and off the rear bumper, re-measure the height.

It's a hunch, but until proven otherwire, my hypothesis is that new bilstiens may add 1/4" to 1/2" to the rear ride height.

Ok filled her up tonight and remesured

front drivers side 19 1/16
back drivers side 20 5/16

front passenger side 19 1/16
back passenger side 20 1/4

Slight differance but still higher then most. I do not have the bed cover option or anything like that so thats a few pounds but I would doubt it would make much more than a 32nd's differance anyway.

steped up on the bumber and rechecked the back but it was the same.

I cant really work on the truck now (still recovering from surgery) so removing or doing anything under the truck would be out of the question.

Hope the numbers help ( even though my truck is high )

That will $5 sir

Spike - it may also be a good idea to see who has what in the bed. I removed my hitch, and have a soft tonnou cover and bedrug. Don't you have a hard top which is heavy then what I have? I'm sure at a certain poundage it would affect the drop measurements by more the 1/4"

Cool Springs

Eibachs are progressive, FRPP/Ground fForce are not. Eibach's will also give you better handling then the softer FRPP/Ground Force spring.
