Hello all... Buying a 2002

Hello all... im new to this board.. but not new to these trucks... i have been awestruck by them since 1999... haveing a truck that kills vettes is insane.. and that fits my personallity well.... i currently own a 1993 lincoln mark 8 and a 1996 infiniti I30t.... I have spent mucho $$$ to make the lincoln fast... to this date... its on its 3rd engine and i have gotton it to go 13.8 N/A 12's no nitrous runs yet...

its a nice car... and pisses off the camaros, mustangs ricers when i kill them... but its a 93... its a money pit.. and its not the fastest thing there is....

so i have dicide to buy a 2002 lightning... here are my questions...

Are there any changes from 2001 to 2002?

The stock motor.. how much power can it handle before it blows itself to pieces? how much boost? nitrous? etc.

I want a daily driver... and 12.50's i think this truck is canidate.. i have seen custom jdm chips, headers, boost pulleys,.... What is the best way to get Low 12's and be able to drive this thing 60 miles a day...

What are the best mods that there are for this truck? what has performed the best?

What vendors are there.. i am really impressed with JDM and im looking into PSP...

All suggestions.. questions and advice are welcomed THANK YOU!!!! hope to be riding with ya soon!!!!

just a few pics of what was my pride and joy

Welcome aboard, and good luck. We all here are looking for the perfect combo with mods. All I can sugest is research and lots of it. Ask specific questions and you'll get an answer but nobody can really tell you that one way is the best.

Good Luck, maybe if it doesn't stop snowing in Chicago, you could pick up a silver 02 Lightning

It looks Like you live close to NYC, so this is your lucky day.
Two of the best Lightning tuners are real close to you

JDM in Northern NJ.
http://www.jdmengineeringinc.com/

PSP in Long Island http://www.powersurgeperformance.net/index.asp

I would check out their web pages and look at what they sell, and the services they provide. Give them a call ot go visit them

My truck is at JDM right now getting a bunch of work done. I live 4.5 hours away from his shop, so that will tell you something.

I drive mine 70-80 miles per week day and 1/4 mile it on the weekends. It now has 21,900 miles on it and has yet to see a shop or dealer(knock-on-wood!),

See my sig for my mods and times--I like to spread the 'wealth' around .

check the sig for mods and performance gains on my particular truck.

all of the tuners are pretty good, I have dealt with them all.

jdm has some high quality (and high priced to match) stuff.

alot of people have forgotten or forgiven the fiasco that accompanied the release of the first jdm pullies, who knows if I were buying stuff for my truck today I might forgive/forget as well because as I said, the product quality appears to be high.

JL and Sal(PSP) are great guys to deal with. Good luck and enjoy your truck.

later,
chris

Who wants to be first to explain the JDM Pulley story to him?

JDM designed and developed a new pulley last year. They had some problems with different machine shops, thus causing delays in shiping them.

We are all very impatient, and Jim didn't do the best job explaining the delays. I think it was a good leson for all of us and the tuners. If there is a problem just let us know what is going on.
