SRT 10 - The Truth/No Bull

The Manager of the Viper assembly plant visited the South Florida Viper Club last Saturday. Here are FACTS about the "Viper powered truck".

1. It will not be available for 17 months.
2. The price will be $45,000.
3. The engine will be made at the Viper plant.
4. The truck will not be made at the Viper plant.
5. Dodge will produce 5000 per year.
6. The suspension and many other details have not been finalized.
7. It will NOT have any meaningful towing capacity - it was made clear that it could not be used to tow a Viper.

Didn't we all guess that? As far as I know, nobody actually thought that thing would come in under 40K.

The complete viper drivetrain in a $35K p/up, NOT! I believe the SRT P/up will become a reality, but without the 6-speed & with a reduced HP version of the Viper motor. I also believe the price will be in the $40K range. If it truly gets the Viper drivetrain, $45K+.

So let me get this straight. They are not going to make the Viper anymore, but they are going to build a supa-dupa pickup truck?

That makes a lot of sense. You'd think Lee Iacocca was still running the show....

Lets hope that it's better than the decal package RoadRunner/Volare, and FWD Demon and Duster. I really liked the last edition of the Challenger also.

Until it is here, it's just a figment of internet racing.

When it's here.............Bring it !!

Autorama last weekend in Detroit...sorry about the lousy lighting.

I think the shifter looks decent. IMO, it's a pretty safe bet to say the interior is gonna be cool...All Daimler-Chrysler vehicles seem to be.

I hate to be a sore winner, but you'll notice on RTKilla's other SRT 10 thread that I suggested we all do a pool, ten bucks a whack, winner's whoever guesses the closest to the price.

I guessed $47K, so I was closest, so you guys need to kindly cough up ten bucks.

Don't be sore losers! Just give me my money and nobody gets hurt.

ACoder,

If you've ever watched "The Price Is Right", you'll recall that it's the one who is closest without going over that wins. You lose! Nanner Nanner Nanner!
