I have been hearing talk about the new interchangable lower pulley for a while. I think Jim has installed it on one or two trucks, expect Jim to make a anouncement when he gets back from Florida.

Thumbs up

I have one ordered. Justin told me that I would get it in two weeks. No pics though. I'm just taking his word on it.

Well phoey. I started working on an interchangeable lower pulley 6 months ago. But all the people I pitched the idea to, gave it a thumbs down . Now people want that? Grrr...

Wow, I don't think i would like a two piece lower. Safety is my thought. One thing is for sure....You better make sure everything is tight and use lock-tight! Great idea for quick change at the track. Street driving?? The inertia produced on a large mass at high RPM's on two pieces bolted together? If I just raced at the track i might go for it.

Talking I got one.....

I had work done at JDM last weekend....and got one of the 1st batch of interchangeable pulleys installed...I elected for the 4 lb. I could get some pictures tomorrow...don't know how good they will be. I basic idea is that there is a standard center hub which you can place any of the new style pulleys...2 lb , 4lb, and stock....currently The pulley bolts and fits to the hub like a puzzle...to change a pulley takes 15 mins...pretty cool. I will try to get pictures tomorrow..stay tuned...

I hope it doesn't take as long as the orginal pulleys

Question

Is it caged or un-caged?

Uncaged pulley's have been interchangeable, take one off, put another on. If it's caged and interchangeable that will be a neat setup for you caged guys.

It is a caged pulley. From what I understand, it comes with it's own cage. Jim or Justin at JDM can tell you all you want to know.

The interchangeable pulley has been around for awhile now here in south fla...........see www.southfloridapulleyhq.com

I spoke to the guy (can't recall his name right now.....brain fart) from south florida pulley headquarters..........talked to him for a good 45 min. and he's very knowledgeable about the L's.

He quoted me about $1900 for interchangeable upper and lower pulley, SVO throttle body, air intake, Superchips flip-chip wiht his tuning, and valve-body...all installed............I thought it was a little pricey, especially since I kinda want to piece it all together........can't quite afford everything in one shot. But he claims to have been installing the interchangeable pulleys on GTP's for a while now, with good results.

That's the upper one, not the lower one. What they are talking about is a lower interchangeable pulley with a cage.
