I was the guinea pig

I got the first interchangeable pulley from JDM. Beat blackjack by 3 hours. No picture .I am sure Jim will post when he gets back.Supposedly he has 120 coming.Put 600 miles on truck since with 6 dyno pulls and so far no problem. It is lighter on the outside. The pulley itself is aluminum. The price was them same as a 4 lb. pulley.Do not know how much the stock and 2 lb. are going to be.As with all of Jims stuff it is a first rate quality piece .

hmmmm

pardon the interuption....but what is the point? Today i feel like having more boost than yesterday? Scorn me if i'm wrong but it just doesn't seem like something someone would really need or want, unless your the guy who wants a new mod so he can keep up with the Jones' or something. I know I for one wouldn't be crawling under there changing pulleys, even if it does take 20 minutes. A pulley on Hub setup seems like recipe for problems on these trucks, especially for the guys who will be swapping them often. We will see.

Hey tallimecca!
I guess a good example would be someone like me, who is too much of a sally a$$ to go straight for the big pulley. If I find later that my friends ZR-1 still walks me, than I can swap out the two lb for a four lb for a good old fashion a$$ kicking of his vette! Maybe use the 4lb at the track, and stock or 2lbs for trips and daily driving. Just my .02!!

I see your point . This is not for everybody. There are however numerous ways this is a good thing.Say you want to get your chip reburned-take the chip out ,put stock pulley on and drive.Say your going to take a long drive( I went to cape may this weekend. If I had it I would have put the stock one on).I know I could just put my stock factory one on,but that does take longer and quite frankly I am not that comftorable being under my truck on jack stands yanking away with a breaker bar. Also if you want a good daily driver and only go to the track every once in a while. Then run the 2lb. daily, flip the switch ,change to 4lb. and race. Again these are just some things that could be done.At least I will have a easy switch if I choose. Also the price was the same even if I decide to do nothing.

point taken

i understand but i just don't see the point, why not just put a 4 lb on and leave it there. I don't think its possible to continuously hit wot while daily driving, at least not around here. Whip, you are from Peabody I thought.....wouldn't you agree?

wait......

hold on...i may have missed something...you can put on the stock pulley? Like the actuall stock pulley or one sold to fit this hub. I guess if you can return the truck easily to stock with this setup, it's not as useless as i thought.....

Choices

I had 2 choices at the time.A pulley you can change in 10 minutes (it is that easy)or a 4 lb. pulley.Same price.
I chose the former.I held both pieces in my hand and it is a qualty piece. It just gives me more freedom to experiment.
I guess we will have to agree to disagree.

I guess there is a "stock size" pulley that fits too. Not the actuall stock pulley. Ya, our traffic is about as bad as it gets! Sometimes I have a heavy foot, especially blasting up 128 and I just don't know if the 4lb'r would be wise, it was a very tough call. Also, I do occasionally tow my boat, not very far, but I do still tow it, and I figured again, 4lb'r might be bad. Actually, I'll take any pulley I can get my hand on now! I'll be home in a couple weeks and would like to have it waiting for me!

I was checking the pulley and all the other goodies today at Jims booth. Very trick looking pulley. The exhaust and long tubes damn near burnt a hole in my wallet. Rod and piston set also has even more drool factor up close. He was burning chips like mad off his laptop.

Yes you can put the stock OEM pulley back on or JDM stock configuration(big word) on.
Also I here jim might be coming out with his own cage.Think about it.Put the stock pulley on stock cage and new pulley on new cage.Talk about easy switch for dealer work.Win Win situation.

I ordered the 4# interchangable from Justin@JDM on Friday. It looks as if this new pulley is what everyone will get from now on. I don't believe they'll make it the "old" way anymore. Just the feeling i got from Justin. Same price: $390.

No cage issue. You use the stock OEM cage with JDM pulley.
What I was saying is if Jim comes out with his own cage then it would be easier to swap.Sorry for any confusion.
