Warranty Void

Ive had my 02 for 2 weeks now and want to start mods. I cant find anything in the faq pages in regards to factory warranty voids due to mods. What mods will void my warranty? Will a simple cat back system and a jdm filter void my warranty?

Any mod could void your warranty. The key is to be smart about your mods AND find a dealer who is mod-friendly, should you encounter problems.

Anything that changes the factory specs for any reason can void the warranty. Sorry to say that but Ford is strict about anything you do to your truck!! Best thing to do is buy a maintenance policy for your truck through your insurance company that will cover anything that the factory wont fix for a $100.oo dedectuble mine was only $1000.oo for 75,000miles and 5 years. And will fix anything mods or not I can take it to any tuner I want to do the work!!

RA6870,

Could you tell me the type of policy you are talking about? I never had heard of that through your insurance company. I live in Texas, and that would be something to consider, ESPECIALLY if they cover the truck with mods!!!

I live just 30 to 45 minutes south of you in Montgomery I went to Farmers and Purchased a Maintenance Policy to cover anything that happens to my truck. It will cover anything except like lights and chrome. It was cheaper than the Ford Extended Warranty and I can take it to anyone I want to fix it I just pay a $100.oo dedectible and thay take care of the rest they even help to pay for a rental car if needed I used it when my truck was in the shop for a new motor they covered the rental portion that ford didn't cover. Other than that I'm still under factory warranty and haven't used it yet.

Progressive insurance has the same thing as well. Ive got it on both my vehicles. It covers everything plus, gas, lock outs, tows. Everything road side service from Ford does.

It seems as if you were to change out your floormats, you would void your warranty with Ford.

I dont know, Ive been through two transmissions in my 01 and it was mod'd out and I had no problems what so ever getting them replaced by two seperate dealers in two States. Just depends on who you go to.
