boost dump pic ?

I want to know if ther is a pic of the plug-harness you have to disconnect to eliminate the boos dump. I also want to know will this give you a check engine light.
The truck really needs to have something done 1-2 shifts suck when it dumps,So any help would be nice from you guys. I am getting a chip soon so should I just leave well enough alone.

Also anyone else with a 2002 notice the crappy paint jobs from Factory, They convientelly forgot to paint the drivers door pillar by the lock mechanism it was barely painted I can see the factory primer-seal crap just thought I would let you guys know

sorry for the long post

So you unplug that and it holds boost longer? Anyone getting engine codes with it unplugged?

It has nothing to do with holding boost longer. You unplug it so that it won't dump any boost. I've had mine unplugged since the day I bought mine and not a single warning light yet

Pardon my ignorance - I've read about this before, but really don't understand why our engines (or computer) would want to 'dump' the boost? - is it reading too much air or something..??

Thanks in Advance,
John

Lightbulb

The only 2 reasons I've ever seen posted were the trans temp is too high or you bump the rev limiter. Either case will cause it to hold out boost for a few seconds. Had a lot of it when the chips first came out. Not much any more.

BTW, unplugging it will throw a code to the computer. If you're taking it in for service plug it back in and pull the battery ground for 15-20 minutes to clear the code.
